About me — Krisztián Hadi

About me

Designer, design engineer, and a firm believer that the browser is the best prototyping tool ever made.

I've worked across advertising, gaming, adult entertainment, education, and SaaS, in roles that ran from project management to digital accessibility. Good memories, and a wide range of experience to go with them.

I started out reverse engineering websites, learning the ins and outs of the early web with tools like Netscape Composer, MS Frontpage, Dreamweaver... just to put you on memory lane...

"I was there, Gandalf. I was there 3000 years ago..."

I'm a team player, and I don't bullshit. I go for the cleanest, most efficient solution — using whatever the team knows, and whatever I can dig up beyond it.

I'm not a fan of walled gardens, or of an airtight separation between design and development. I believe in transparency, communication, and collaboration. If a concept is faster to build in code than to spend countless hours in Figma (never mind the shortcomings of design software next to code), I'm happy to jump on the keyboard. I'd rather prototype in the browser than in any design tool.

I'm all in for the indie and open web, user-friendly interfaces, and clean, single-purpose products.

What I'm good at

My main area is digital product design, but I can also help you fine-tune your strategy or development workflow, work on branding, or audit your product's accessibility, UX flows, and technical shortcomings.

For design I mostly use Figma these days, but I'm comfortable in any of them — at the end of the day they're all the same, and the tool doesn't define the designer.

For coding and building I use VSCodium, with help from open-weight LLMs like DeepSeek or GLM by Z. I'm not emotionally attached to any dev environment. I look for efficiency and productivity, not the latest hyped feature.

Tech-wise I'm most proficient with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and I have fond memories of PHP. I'm not chasing trends, but I can pick up any other language if I need to. It's never the tech that defines the person behind the keyboard — everything is a tool to reach a goal, and a matter of comfort.

Personal life

Slow travelling the world with my wife and our two cats. We're in Thailand at the moment, and I'm studying traditional Thai massage.

In the meantime I take photos (pretty much obsessed with black and white), go on long walks on the beach, and play "weird" electronic instruments or my handpan — sometimes both at once.
